RELATING TO ADMINISTRATION; APPROVING AND ADOPTING CERTAIN TOWN
LOGOS AND ICONS AS THE OFFICIAL LOGOS AND ICONS OF THE TOWN OF MARANA
WHEREAS the Marana Strategic Plan's Community Building focus area includes an
initiative to create a sense of community identity and community place and an action strategy to
develop and identify a marketing/branding strategy; and
WHEREAS establishing a cohesive graphic identity, with consistency across all Town
departments and functions in the appearance of icons, correspondence, presentations and other
related communications material, is a critical component to branding Marana as a community of
excellence; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council find that the best interests of the Town of Marana and its
citizens are served by the official adoption of certain Town logos and icons and the implementation
of consistent graphic standards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Town of Marana logos and icons and associated color palettes depicted on
Exhibit A, attached to and incorporated by this reference in this resolution, are hereby approved and
adopted as the official Town logos and icons, and may not be altered, revised or modified in anyway
without the approval of the Mayor and Council.
SECTION 2. The Town's Manager and staff are hereby directed and authorized to undertake
all other and further tasks required or beneficial to carry out the objectives of this resolution,
including the implementation of graphic standards for the Town of Marana.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
MARANA, ARIZONA, this 4 day of October, 2011.
