This included the installation of three new energy efficient HVAC (13 SEER) units and the replacement of single pane south facing windows with dual -pane energy efficient windows. • In addition, old in- efficient fluorescent light fixtures, and bulbs were replaced with new energy efficient fixtures and bulbs. • Initial grant monies will be expended by October 1, 2011. • Energy costs are being tracked to determine the cost savings and those savings will be re- invested in other energy saving projects at MMC & MOC. co�Mftrce - Comfflo'nity Oilding - Recreation - Progress and Innovation - Heritage People • • Communit Community Health and Wellness 02"0' ............ ■ 9 k ..... Project Name Neighborhood Meetings Project Status /Details: • Staff facilitated Neighborhood Meetings: Marana Estates: 07 -18 -2011, 08 -01 -2011, 08 -15 -2011 Adonis: 07 -06 -2011, 07 -20 -2011, 08 -17 -2011 Honea Heights: 08 -03 -2011 • Upcoming Meetings Include: Marana Estates: 09 -19 -2011, 10 -17 -2011 Adonis: 09 -21 -2011, 10 -19 -2011 Honea Heights: TBA Commerce - Community Building - Recreation - Progress and Innovation - Heritage LL M Community Health and Wellness lasso Project Name Colonia Status Project Status /Details: • On August 22, 2011, the Town submitted application packets to the Arizona Department of Housing for recertification of Colonia status under guidelines is- sued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. • Colonia recertification documents were complied with the assistance of resi- dents and businesses in the Adonis, Berry Acres, Honea Heights, Marana Es- tates, Marana Vista, Price Lane, and Yoem Pueblo /Sandario Road areas. • Residents in each of the neighborhoods were asked to complete survey forms providing household information including demographic, income, and an as- sessment of housing status. • The information collected was compiled by Management Intern Vicky Hathaway and used as a basis for the recertification. Project Name Neighborhood Clean Up Day 10 -22 -2011 Project Status /Details: • October 22„ 2011 Community Development will partner with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; Saint Christopher's Catholic Church, the Arizona youth Partnership and the Adonis, Marana Estates, and Honea Heights residents to complete more than a dozen neighborhood beautification projects. • Volunteers from across the community will come together at Ora Mae Harn Park at 7:30 am for orientation and will work from 8:00am — 1:00pm to com- plete predetermined projects. • After the work is done, volunteers will come back together at Ora Mae Harn Park for a community cookout. • Approximately 250 volunteers are expected. Town staff from a variety of de- partments have volunteered to support the initiative and will be on hand to en- sure that it is a safe, enjoyable, and productive day. Project name: Marana Health Center Phase II Project Status /Details: • This second phase of the Marana Health Center development will house behavioral health services and be known as the "Marana Health and Wellness Center." It will be a two -story 31,221 square foot facility located on the lot west of the recently opened Marana Health Center. • Construction of the building is scheduled to begin before the end of this year. Project name: Los Saguaros Preliminary Plat Project Status /Details: • The new, Los Saguaros subdivision will resubdivide the existing, Saguaro Forest Final Plat into 134 residential lots and a residential block for future development. • The subdivision is located in Dove Mountain on the south side of the Dove Moun- tain Boulevard traffic circle by the Ritz - Carlton entry monument. • The first submittal of the plat has been reviewed and we are waiting for the second submittal. Project name: Tortolita Reserve Preliminary Plat Project Status /Details: • The Tortolita Reserve Preliminary Plat application was submitted by Psomas, on behalf of Lennar Arizona, Inc., on July 21, 2011. The proposal consists of 79 single - family residential lots, .35 acres of common area for recreation, 4.86 acres of com- mon area for drainage, and 12.20 acres as natural undisturbed open space. • The project area is located north of Moore Road and west of Tortolita Road, near the Hertiage Highlands development. • Development review of the first submittal has been completed. F i Commerce - Community Building - Recreation - Progress and Innovation - Heritage L - a ­1 n - d __ Manageme]nt' Growth Project name: Office Building on Lon Adams Project Status /Details: • This is the proposed second phase of development of the site owned by Mosley Management LLC at 13455 N. Lon Adams Rd. The three acre parcel currently has one building which houses Marana Dental Care. • The development plan calls for a 1,941 square foot one -story dental office with a 1,941 square foot future office addition. • The building permit for the dental office has been approved by the necessary de- partments and is going through administrative review processes. The building per- mit will not be issued until the development plan and all necessary improvement plans have been approved. Land Use Project name: Can -It Recycling Center Significant Land Use Change Project Status /Details: • A Significant Land Use Change application for a non - ferrous metal recycling center was received and processed on June 20, 2011. • The facility is proposed to be located at 13900 N. Adonis Road. • If approved, the applicant would process all required plans to construct a new building in accordance with the commercial design standards. • The Town received 20 protest letters, which was sufficient protest to require a public hearing and a three - quarters majority vote. • A public hearing with the Marana Planning Commission was held on August 31, 2011; the application was denied. • On September 1, 2011, the applicant submitted a letter requesting an appeal of the Planning Commission's decision. • A public hearing has been scheduled and advertised before the Marana Town Council on October 4, 2011.
