Project Name Santa Cruz River Shared Use Path Phase II
Project Status /Details:
• This is the portion of the trail from Coyote Trails to Cortaro Road.
• Southern Az Paving has begun work on the pedestrian bridge abutments.
• The first pedestrian bridge is anticipated to be delivered to the project site at the
end of January 2012.
Project Name Santa Cruz River Shared Use Path Phase III
Project Status /Details:
• This is the portion of the trail from the Beard House to Gladden Farms Park
• This project is partially funded by FHWA funds, administered through ADOT; via
an IGA with ADOT, the Town is eligible to receive $56,608.00 in reimbursement
for design costs and $443,392.00 for construction costs.
• The project has been estimated to cost a total of $796,030.00.
• Construction is estimated to begin early summer 2012.
Project Name Tiffany Loop Drainage
Project Status /Details:
• SunWestern Contractors is constructing the storm drain system within the parcel
located to the west of Tiffany Loop.
• Coordination is ongoing with CMID, AT &T, Century Link, and Southwest Gas
ahead of the replacement, protection, or relocation of their respective facilities
that is necessary to enable the crossing of Tiffany Loop with the new storm drain
system.
• Businesses located in the "Bowtie Area" have been kept notified of the ongoing
construction activities as accommodations are made jointly by the Town and
SunWestern to minimize the impact of the project upon their operations.

Project Name Kiosk signs
Project Status /Details:
• The first of the Town's way finding signs are anticipated to be installed by the
end of next week.
• The signs will be placed at Arizona Pavillions Road and Cortaro Road and at Ari-
zona Pavillions Road and The Pines.
• These signs were designed to help guide motorists toward developing neighbor-
hoods in the Town of Marana.

Project Status /Details:
• Friday, February 11 at 10a.m.- Ribbon Cutting
• There will be a guided hike following the event. Please call 382 -1950 to RSVP for
the hike.
Project Name Accenture Match Play Championship
Project Status /Details:
• The Accenture Match Play Championship is coming to Marana for a sixth consec-
utive year the week of February 20 -26. The Ritz - Carlton, Dove Mountain is the
host site for the fourth time.
• Our police department and traffic engineering divisions have completed the ma-
jority of their planning for the event. There is one final planning meeting sched-
uled for next week with Town staff along with representatives of the PGA TOUR,
Tucson Conquistadores, ADOT, Northwest Fire District and Southwest Ambu-
lance.
• There are a few changes this year. Parking is moving closer to the venue in lots
along Dove Mountain Boulevard and grounds adjacent to the course. Spectators
are invited to bring cell phones — set on silent mode — to the course. On February
26, the day of the title match, fans are allowed to walk on the course behind the
final pairing.
• Players are more accessible during practice rounds on February 20 and 21 and
sometimes will take time to sign autographs and talk with spectators. Fans are
also allowed to bring cameras to the course those days.
• This event is viewed by millions of people across the globe on Golf Channel and
NBC. It's a great opportunity to showcase the beauty that we have here in Mara -
na and the Sonoran Desert.

Project Status /Details:
• The new website went live on December 30.
• In January (Dec 30 -Jan 20) there were 19,089 visits to the website, including
69,068 page visits.
• There has been an increase in weekly visits and page views since January 1.
• It is anticipated that visits will increase more as we provide more on -line ser-
vices.
Project Name Dispose -A -Med Event
Project Status /Details:
• On 12/17/11- MPD held a Dispose a Med /Shred event at Target, 3901 W. Ina
Road.
• 81 pounds of prescription drugs and over the counter medicine was destroyed by
the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Project name: Strategic Plan
Project Status /Details:
• Seventeen outreach meetings have been scheduled throughout January and Feb-
ruary.
• The Strategic Plan page of the website is competed and includes links to the sur-
vey, blog and approved draft of the document.
• We are working with Arizona Daily Star to schedule a time for an online chat.
• Posters will be put up next week at both the Marana Municipal Complex, and the
Marana Operations Center.
• Wallet cards have been designed and will be handed out to all employees so that
they can easily reference the strategic plan focus areas.
• The final draft of the document will be placed on the March 6 Council agenda.

Project name Business Development Center
Project Status /Details:
• On January 12 the Town of Marana and the Marana Chamber of Commerce held
a ribbon cutting for the Town's new Business Development Center.
• The Business Development Center (BDC) is designed to be a 'one stop shop" for
anyone looking to open a business in Marana and is helping Marana attain it's
goal of being the most business friendly place in the state.
• Already, the BDC is seeing increased traffic from business owners that have read
about it in the newspaper.
