HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2012-093 relating to holiday time offMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2012-093 RELATING TO PERSONNEL; APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL PAID HOLIDAY ON DECEMBER 24, 2012 FOR ELIGIBLE TOWN OF MARANA EMPLOYEES WHEREAS Section 3-3-3 of the Marana Town Code provides that the Town Council may adopt personnel rules, regulations and policies that follow the generally accepted principles of good personriel administration and which may be modified or changed from time to time; and WHEREAS the Town Council adopted Personnel Policies and Procedures via Town of Mazana Ordinance 99.12 and Resolution 99-38 on May 18, 1999, which policies have been amended from time to time; and WHEREAS Section 4-4-2(A) of the Personnel Policies and Procedures designates ten days as Town-approved holidays; and WHEREAS Section 4-4-2(B) of the Personnel Policies and Procedures provides that the Council may approve additional holidays in any given calendar year; and WHEREAS the Council finds that approving an additional paid holiday on December 24, 2012 is in the best interests of the Town and its employees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows: SECTION l. Monday, December 24, 2012 is hereby approved as an additional paid holiday for eligible Town of Marana employees, subject to all established Personnel Policies and Procedures relating to Town-approved paid holidays. SECTION 2. The Town's manager and staff are hereby directed and authorized to undertake a11 other and further tasks required or beneficial to carry out the terms, obligations, and objectives of this resolution.
