MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2006-178
RELATING TO TRAFFIC; ADOPTING THE TOWN OF MARANA SPEED ZONE MAP
AND ACCOMP ANYING TABLE, ESTABLISHING THE REASONABLE AND PRUDENT
MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS ON SPECIFIC ROADWAYS LOCATED WITHIN THE TOWN
LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF MARANA.
WHEREAS the Town Council has determined that efficient administration requires the
elimination of specific speed limits for roadways located within the Town from the Town Code;
and
WHEREAS speed limits may more appropriately be reported and updated from time to
time by the adoption and amendment of an official speed zone map and accompanying table
showing and describing the locations where particular reasonable and prudent maximum speed
limits would occur; and
WHEREAS the Town Council finds that the adoption, reporting, and amendment of
speed limits as set forth in this resolution is in the best interests of the Town and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Town of Marana Speed Zone Map and accompanying table, as set
forth on Exhibit A and B, respectively, attached to and incorporated in this resolution by this
reference, are hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. Town staff is hereby directed to make the Town of Marana Speed Zone
Map and accompanying table available to the public and accessible from the Town's internet
web site.

SECTION 3. The Town Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to maintain and
update the Town of Marana Speed Zone Map and accompanying table as necessary based on
nationally-accepted traffic engineering standards.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
MARANA, ARIZONA, this 7th day of November, 2006.
