Project Name: Tiffany Loop Drainage
Project Status/Details:
• Work is resuming on the Stormwater Drainage Project on Tiffany Loop.
• The project is associated with the construction of the Twin Peaks Traffic Inter-
change. It is needed to convey storm water from the east side of Tiffany Loop
to the Santa Cruz River, because the construction of the Twin Peaks T.I. and
Tiffany Loop has resulted in an increased potential for flooding of the business-
es located on that roadway.
• The project started in the Fall of 2011 but had to be halted in early 2012 be-
cause of the discovery of an AT&T fiber optic ductbank within the Tiffany Loop
right-of-way that conflicted with storm drain piping to be constructed across
the road.
At that point, a significant portion of the project had been completed, namely
the construction of storm drain piping draining to the river and the reconstruc-
tion of a CMID irrigation water main impacted by the project.
The project is being completed by the Town for ADOT.

Project Name: Crime Statistics and Trends
Project Status/Details:
• In the second half of 2011 and into 2012 the police department implemented a number
of programs and strategies to help bring crime numbers down after the whole-scale in-
crease in 2011 (see chart below).
• The Strategic Targeted Operational Planning (S.T.O.P) program looks at crime trends to
determine how to most effectively and efficiently deploy resources and the Directed Ac-
tion Response Team (D.A.R.T.) is a plain clothes unit that conducts surveillance, targets
crime hotspots, and hunts down identified criminals based on the information from the
S.T.O.P. sessions.
• Additionally, the VIPS program is being used to resurrect a number of crime prevention
strategies and programs that were previously eliminated due to budget cuts, and the
Business Coalition was formed and meets bi-monthly to discuss concerns, and go over
crime trends.
