HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2013-029 salary and benefits surveyMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2013-0�9 RELATING TO PERSONNEL; REPEALING MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2008-31 WHICH REQUESTED APPROVAL OF A RECOIvIMENDED LABOR MARI�ET OF COMPARABLE ORGANIZATIONS FOR PURPOSES OF A SALARY AND BENEFITS SURVEY WHEREAS on February 19, 2008, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2008-31 approving a list of governmental entities as the labor market for classification and compensation comparisons for a salary and benefits survey to be completed for the Town at that time; and WHEREAS in December 2012, the Town issued a Request for Proposals to procure a consultant to complete a new classification and compensation study for the Town; and WHEREAS as a part of the new classification and compensation study, the consultant is to recommend benchmark classifications to be used for market survey and analysis and recommend appropriate mazket comparisons to be used for the survey to include, if applicable to a pay structure or employee group, public and private sector data developed on a local, statewide, regional, or national level; and WHEREAS the Town Council finds that repealing Resolution No. 2008-31 and allowing the Town's new consultant to recommend the appropriate labor market at this time for the new classification and compensation study is in the best interests of the Town of Mazana and its citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows: SECTION 1. Resolution No. 2008-31, adopted on February 19, 2008, is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. The Town's Manager and staff are hereby directed and authorized to undertake all other and further tasks required or beneficial to carry out the terms and objeetives of this resolution.
