Need to identify ways to
attract more people,
businesses, and rooftops
First impressions are
important, and it is the
responsibility of the
Town to ensure the
maintenance of
beautiful and clean
streets, sidewalks, and
landscaping. How can
these be incorporated
into creating an
"entrance" to North
Marana including the
Marana Road exit?

Recommendations:
Roadway needs to be streamlined for safety and beautification
Add the following: • Curbing
• Sidewalks • Drainage channels
• Landscaping • Adequate lighting
These amenities can help existing businesses
Inciude the needs of Chamber for entrance visibility -. _
Features for the "entrance":
• Welcome sign
• Archway
• Monument and
wayfinding system
• Billboard
• Fitting with the !
design of the area
and Main Street

opportunities for
existing businesses
Marana desires to be
a sustainable
community where
residents can work,
live, and play. Using
the community
attributes identified in
the previous
meetings, what are
the most important
attributes that should
be pursued to reach
this goal?

Recomrnendations:
Create a viable transportation infrastructure system
Public transit Equestrian paths/traifs
Bike paths Tie into The Loop
Expand technology and communication infrastructure
Cell towers Fiberoptics
Create Recreational venues
Parks Performing Arfs/Enterfainment
Encourage Golf courses venues
Expand rodeo grounds
Emironmentally conscious building in the future
Solar Water harvesting
LEED (Leadership in Energy & CNG (Compressed Natral Gas)
Environmental Design) vehicles for public transit
Keep services at the highest level as the Town grows
Particularly public safety
Municipalities have tools at
their discretion to facilitate
development and growth, for
example, financial incentives.
Thinking more broadly, what
other tools should be pursued,
such as public-private
partnerships? To what extent
should the development of
North Marana be the
responsibi)ity of the Town and
its residents (e.g., through
increased taxes) vs. the
private or non-profit sector?
