MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2006-198
RELATING TO DEVELOPMENT; CANCELLING THE PUBLIC HEARINGS TO DOWN-
ZONE THE ACACIA HILLS SPECIFIC PLAN AND THE NORTHGATE SPECIFIC PLAN
TO THE EXTENT THEY APPLY TO PROPERTY REZONED AS PART OF THE CASCADA
SPECIFIC PLAN (ORDINANCE 2006.23).
WHEREAS Town staff is moving forward with a proposed down-zoning of the land
covered by the Acacia Hills Specific Plan and the Northgate Specific Plan with noticed public
hearings before the Marana Planning Commission and the Marana Town Council on
December 11 and December 12, 2006, respectively; and
WHEREAS the Town Council's adoption of Ordinance No. 2006.23, adopting the
Cascada Specific Plan, makes it unnecessary for the Town to move forward with any down-
zonings on property covered by the now-adopted Cascada Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS only about 104.4 acres of the Northgate Specific Plan is not covered by the
Cascada Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS the Town Council finds that adoption of this resolution is in the best interests
of the citizens of Marana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Town-initiated down-zoning of the Acacia Hills Specific Plan,
including the December 11 and December 12 public hearings before the Marana Planning
Commission and Marana Town Council, respectively, concerning the Acacia Hills Specific Plan
down-zoning, are hereby cancelled.
SECTION 2. The Town-initiated down-zoning of the Northgate Specific Plan, including
the December 11 and December 12 public hearings before the Marana Planning Commission and
Marana Town Council, respectively, concerning the Northgate Specific Plan, are hereby
cancelled to the extent it covers land addressed by the Cascada Specific Plan down-zoning. The
down-zoning of the Northgate Specific Plan, and the public hearings relating to it, shall proceed
with respect to the 104.4 acres of the Northgate Specific Plan that is not included within the
Cascada Specific Plan.

SECTION 3. The Town's Manager and staff are hereby directed and authorized to
undertake all other and further tasks required or beneficial to carry out the terms, obligations, and
objectives ofthis resolution.
