HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2013-102 repealing salary schedules for FY 2014-13MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2013-102 RELATING TO PERSONNEL; REPEALING THE SALARY SCHEDULES APPROVED PURSUANT TO MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2013-061 FOR CLASSIFIED AND TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014; AND DESIGNATING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS on June 18, 2013, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2013-061 approving salary schedules for classified and temporary employees for fiscal year 2013-2014; and WHEREAS on October 15, 2013, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2013-093 approving and adopting a compensation philosophy for compensation of Town of Marana employees and authorizing the Town Manager to implement the compensation philosophy consistent with budget capacity and authority, which authorization included the authority to administratively implement a pay structure (also referred to as salary schedules) for all employees of the Town; and WHEREAS on October 15, 2013, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2013-094 approving the transfer of budgeted expenditure authority in the fiscal year 2013-2014 budget to fund wage adjustments due to the implementation of the new pay structure by January 1, 2014; and WHEREAS the Town Council finds that repealing the salary schedules approved by Resolution No. 2013-061 and allowing the Town Manager to utilize the authority granted under Resolution No. 2013-093 and Resolution No. 2013-094 to determine and implement compensation for Town of Marana employees consistent with the Town's compensation philosophy is in the best interests of the Town of Marana and its citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows: SECTION l. The salary schedules approved pursuant to Resolution No. 2013-061 on June 18, 2013, are hereby repealed. SECTION 2. The Town's Manager and staff are hereby directed and authorized to undertake all other and further tasks required or beneficial to carry out the terms and objectives of this resolution. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective on December 27, 2013, at midnight.
