SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2006-200: Relating to Development; cancelling the
public hearings to down-zone the Foothills Specific Plan.
DISCUSSION
If the Town Council approves the Foothills Development Agreement at tonight's meeting, there
is no need to move forward with a down-zoning of the Foothills property. This item would can-
cel the public hearings to down-zone the Foothills property.
RECOMMENDATION
If the Town Council approves the Foothills Development Agreement, Town staff recommends
adoption of Resolution No. 2006-200.

I move to adopt Resolution No. 2006-200.

MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2006-200
RELATING TO DEVELOPMENT; CANCELLING THE PUBLIC HEARINGS TO DOWN-
ZONE THE FOOTHILLS SPECIFIC PLAN.
WHEREAS Town staff is moving forward with a proposed down-zoning of the land
covered by the Foothills Specific Plan with noticed public hearings before the Marana Planning
Commission and the Marana Town Council on December 11 and December 12, 2006,
respectively; and
WHEREAS the Town Council's approval of the Foothills Development Agreement
makes it unnecessary for the Town to move forward with the down-zoning of the Foothills
Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS the Town Council finds that adoption ofthis resolution is in the best interests
of the citizens of Mar ana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, that the Town-initiated down-zoning of the Foothills
Specific Plan, including the December 11 and December 12, 2006 public hearings before the
Marana Planning Commission and the Marana Town Council, respectively, concerning the
Foothills Specific Plan down-zoning, are hereby cancelled.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town's Manager and staff are hereby directed and
authorized to undertake all other and further tasks required or beneficial to carry out the terms,
obligations, and objectives ofthis resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
MARANA, ARIZONA, this 5th day of December, 2006.
