SUBJECT: Relating to Administration: approving and authorizing the
disposition of police modular buildings
DISCUSSION
The Parks & Recreation department has been considering using the four modular structures
formerly housing the Marana Police Department. These structures have been vacant for nearly
two years and are currently located near the comer of Sanders and Marana Roads.
Through inspections by the Town's building, operations & maintenance and parks departments,
it has been determined that the cost of relocation, renovation, and compliance with code issues is
more than the value of the structures.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff requests approval to dispose of the structures through auction. If a buyer is not located
within six weeks, staff requests permission to demolish the structures.
SUGGESTED MOTION
I move to authorize staff to proceed with the auction or demolition of the modular structures
formerly used to house the Marana Police Department.
