DISCUSSION
Miracle in Marana is a Marana-based 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization incorporated in 2005.
Each year this community-based organization provides a holiday party for the children of Pima
County and Southern Pinal County. The primary goals ofthis event are to: (1) promote giving
for children and families; and (2) to provide a positive experience for Marana youth, families,
and volunteers.
The mission of the Miracle in Marana board of directors is to ensure that no Marana family is left
out during the holidays or at any time throughout the year. This year's holiday party will
promote the priority of Marana's Mayor and Council of providing positive activities for children
and families. Taking place at the Ora Mae Ham Park on Saturday, December 23, 2006, the event
will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the super heroes from Marana Skydiving preparing the grounds for
Santa: s arrival by helicopter. One of the children declares the party open and the sharing begins.
The event will last until every child has received gifts, met Santa Claus, enjoy fun-filled
activities and shared food and entertainment with community volunteers and their families.
Miracle in Marana has submitted a Discretionary Funding application in the amount of $2,500.
