HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2016-104 Approving staff to implement the Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Space 5 yr Update and Plan- MARANA RESOLUTION- NO. 2016-104 RELATING TO PARKS AND RECREATION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING TOWN __4 STAFF TO IMPLEMENT THE PARKS, RECREATION, TRAILS AND OPEN SPACI�_, 5 YEAR UPDATE AND STRATEGIC PLAN DATED OCTOBER 2016 WHEREAS the Town Council adopted the Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space Master Plan in October 201 which prescribed an update of the plan in five y ears ; and WHEREAS the Town of Marana Strate Plan III Recreation focus area includes the principle statement that the Town will desi build and maintain appropriate hi q ualit y recreational amenities to enhance the q ualit y of life for Marana residents and visitors, with an initiative of reviewin and updatin the Parks Master Plan, ali the plan with the Town's strate vision related to recreation and WHEREAS the Plannin and Parks and Recreation Departments entered into a collaborative a with the Universit of Arizona Colle of Architecture, Plannin and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA) to assist with the IIve- update and WHEREAS the Town Council finds that adoption for the five- update to the Parks Master Plan is in the best interests of the communit NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED b the Ma and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, that the Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space 5 Year Update and Strate Plan dated October 2016, attached to and incorporated b this reference in this resolution as Exhibit A, is hereb approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town's Mana and staff are hereb directed and authorized to undertake all other and further tasks re or beneficial to carr out the obli and objectives of the Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space 5 Year Update and Strate Plan.
