How was this goal accomplished?
By developing realistic aviation activity
forecasts based on national and
regional trends, and unique local factors
specific to Marana Regional Airport

How was this goal accomplished?
As a result of newly focused forecasts, the future
proposed development at the Marana Regional
Airport emerged.
Future airport development covers a 20-year
planning period and is grouped into three phases:
Short-term (1-5 years)
Medium-term (6-10 years)
Long-term (11-20 years)
During the process, a unique development
strategy materialized for the Airport:
–Group similar operations, businesses, and functions
together in order to enhance the overall safety and
efficiency of the airfield.

How was this goal accomplished?
Having carefully assessed the existing
airport facilities and their abilities to meet
current and future demand, development
concepts and projects were created, or
“right-sized,” for Marana Regional Airport
Input from the FAA, ADOT, and the PAC
and TAC committees agreed that the
proposed development is realistic, feasible
and meets the planning needs of the Town
of Marana and the Airport for the 20-year
planning period

Final Outcomes
An airport master plan for the Marana
Regional Airport was produced with
realistic and progressive development
plans approved by the FAA.
Based on the findings of the planning
process, the Master Plan now serves as a
tool for the Town of Marana to develop a
safe and efficient airport that will meet the
demands of its aviation users and
surrounding community.
