HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2003-132 IGA with DPS for vehicle theft task forceMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2003-132 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCiL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY REGARDING THE ARIZONA VEHICLE THEFT TASK FORCE. WHEREAS, the Town finds that the collaboration and synchronization between the Town of Marana Police Department and the Arizona Department of Public Safety as a result of the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force has significantly promoted the public health, safety, and welfare by facilitating enforcement of motor vehicle theft; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into a new intergovernmental agreement with the Arizona Department of Public Safety to renew the Town's participation in the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, approving and authorizing the Mayor to execute an intergovernmental agreement with the Arizona Department of Public Safety regarding the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force, in the form presented to the Mayor and Council concurrently with this Resolution, and authorizing the Town Manager and the Police Chief to execute any and all further documentation and undertake all other tasks required to carry out the terms, obligations and objectives of the intergovernmental agreement.
