HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2020-106 Approving Development Plan for Home 2 Suites by Hilton at Cortaro Ranch MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2020-106 RELATING TO DEVELOPMENT; APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR HOME 2 SUITES BY HILTON AT CORTARO RANCH LOCATED NORTH OF CORTARO FARMS ROAD AND WEST OF CERIUS STRAVENUE WHEREAS, on December 19, 1995, the Marana Town Council adopted Ordinance No. 95.30 approving a rezoning of approximately 98.7 acres of land located at the northeast corner of Cortaro Farms Road and Interstate 10 from Zone 'C' (Large Lot Zone) to R-8 (Single-family Residential) and VC (Village Commercial) (the "1995 Rezoning"); and WHEREAS, on September 17, 1996, the Marana Town Council adopted Resolution No. 96-81, approving a final plat for Cortaro Ranch, Lots 1-297 and Common Area "A", located north of Cortaro Farms Road and west of Cerius Stravenue within a portion of Section 26, Township 12 South and Range 12 East; and WHEREAS, on March 19, 2019, the Marana Town Council adopted Ordinance No. 2019.006 approving a rezoning of approximately 5.47 acres of land located north of Cortaro Farms Road and west of Cerius Stravenue from R-8 Single-Family Residential and Light Industrial (LI) to Village Commercial (VC) (the "2019 Rezoning"); and WHEREAS, on April 2, 2019, the Marana Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2019-023, approving a final plat for Cortaro Ranch Phase II, a 6-lot commercial resubdivision of Lots 163 through 180, Lots 295 through 297, and Common Area "A" of Cortaro Ranch, Lots 1-297 and Common Area "A", and also a resubdivision of Lots 293C and 294B of Cortaro Ranch, Lots 293A through 294B; and WHEREAS, on April 2, 2019, the Marana Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2019-024, approving a development plan for Cortaro Ranch Phase II; and WHEREAS EPS Group, Inc., on behalf of Investment Resources Corp., has applied for approval of a development plan for a hotel within Cortaro Ranch Phase II; and WHEREAS the property that is the subject of the development plan for the hotel is located partially in the 1995 Rezoning area and partially in the 2019 Rezoning area; and WHEREAS the Marana Town Council, at the regularly scheduled meeting on September 15, 2020, determined that the Development Plan for Home 2 Suites by Hilton should be approved. 00072405.DOCX/1 Resolution No. 2020-106 - 1 - NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA that the Development Plan for Home 2 Suites by Hilton is hereby approved.
