HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-012 increasing the speed limit on silverbell roadMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2001-12 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA TO INCREASE THE SPEED LIMIT FROM THE EXISTiNG 35 MPH TO 50 MPH ON SILVERBELL ROAD BETWEEN THE WESTEP,-N TOWN LIMIT AND SANDERS ROAD. WHEREAS, pursuant to A.R.S. §28-703, the Town may increase maximum speed limits on roadways; 'and WHEREAS, the existing speed limit along a two-mile stretch of Silverbell Road is 35 mph; and WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has conducted a traffic and engineering study which supports an increase in the maximum speed limit on Silverbell Road between the western Town limit and Smiders Road. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marzma, .~izona, to increase the speed limit along Silverbell Road between the western Tovm limit and Sanders Road to 50 mph, except that the maximum speed limit approaching the intersection of Sm, ders Road shall be 40 mph.
