HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/20/2007 Blue Sheet Appointments to Utilities Commission TOWN COUNCIL MEETING INFORMATION MEETING DATE: TOWN OF MARANA February 20, 2007 AGENDA ITEM: K. 1 TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL FROM: Jocelyn Bronson, Town Clerk, and Frank Cassidy, Town Attorney SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2007-30: Relating to Boards, Commissions and Committees; approving appointments to the Utilities Commission DISCUSSION Council was provided with seven applications requesting appointment to the newly formed Utili- ties Commission. The Utilities Commission appointees will serve a four-year term under the guidance ofthe Town's Utilities Director as well as the bylaws established for the commission. The terms for the commissioners appointed at tonight's meeting will expire in March of 2011. RECOMMENDATION Staff has provided recommendations to the Manager's Committee which have been forwarded along with copies of the applications to the Council. Staff recommends that all seven applica- tions be appointed to the Utilities Commission with four-year terms to expire in March, 2011. SUGGESTED MOTION I move to approve Resolution No. 2007-11, appointing , and to the Utilities Commission. Citizen Advisory Commissions MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2007-30 RELATING TO STANDING BOARDS, COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS; APPROVING APPOINTMENTS TO THE TOWN OF MARANA UTILITIES COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the Utilities Commission has been created by the Town Council to meet and advise the Town Council on concerns relating to utilities issues within the Town; and WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to fill seven seats on the Utilities Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, THAT , and be appointed to the Utiliities Commission with terms of office to expire in March of 20 11.
