HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/20/2007 Blue Sheet Declaring Commercial Design Standards a Public Record TOWN COUNCIL MEETING INFORMATION TOWN OF MARANA MEETING DATE: March 20, 2007 AGENDA ITEM: J.4.a TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL FROM: Kevin Kish, AICP, Planning Director SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2007-42: Relating to Land Development; Declaring the Commercial Design Standards, Title 8, and Title 3, Definitions, of the Land Development Code as a public record filed with the Town Clerk; and declaring an emergency. DISCUSSION This resolution makes the Commercial Design Standards (Land Development Code Titles 8 and 3) a public record. This process makes it possible for the Commercial Design Standards to be adopted by reference under A.R.S. ~ 9-802, thereby avoiding the requirement to publish the en- tire document, as would otherwise be required under A.R.S. ~ 9-812. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 2007-42, immediately prior to or at the same time as the adoption of Ordinance No. 2007.07, the adopting ordinance for the Commercial Design Standards (Land Development Code Titles 8 and 3). SUGGESTED MOTION I move to adopt Resolution No. 2007-42, and declaring an emergency. 032007 Commercial Design Standards a public record} MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2007-42 RELATING TO LAND DEVELOPMENT; DECLARING THE COMMERCIAL DESIGN STANDARDS TITLE 8; AND AMENDING TITLE 3, AS A PUBLIC RECORD FILED WITH THE TOWN CLERK; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows: SECTION 1. The Commercial Design Standards Title 8; and amending Title 3 of the Town of Marana, Arizona, a copy of which is attached to and incorporated in this resolution as Exhibit A and three copies of which are on file in the office of the Town Clerk. Is hereby declared to be a public record and ordered to remain on file with the Town Clerk. SECTION 2. Since tit is necessary for the preservation of peace, health and safety of the Town of Marana that this resolution become immediately effective, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
