The committee consisted of Town staff and 3 council members. The following concept was selected to be further defined: 1. Concept A - Santa Cruz River was selected as the preferred artistic scheme. 2. The interchange design promotes different ways to express the river theme on its east and west sides due to the difference in embankment methods. 3. The west side of the interchange uses fill slopes to achieve vertical grade and would lend itself well to designs using different colors of landscaping rock. An undulating river pattern might work well in this area. 4. The east side of the interchange uses vertical MSE walls and would lend itself well to relief designs in the walls. The nearby Los Moteros Indian ruins are just northwest of the interchange location. Their influence could be reflected into the form lined MSE walls. 5. Pedestrian fencing on the bridge could likely incorporate a river theme well. TOWN OF MARANA - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 11555 W.
