RELATING TO BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF UP TO $425,000 IN
BUDGETED EXPENSE AUTHORITY FROM THE GENERAL FUND CONTINGENCY
LINE ITEM TO THE WATER RECLAMATION FUND IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2022
BUDGET FOR COSTS RELATED TO SYSTEM REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
WHEREAS on June 15, 2021, the Town Council adopted the fiscal year 2021-2022
budgetary document and overall financial plan which set the legal level of budgetary
control at the department level for the General Fund and at the fund level for all other
funds; and
WHEREAS the fiscal year 2021-2022 budget included a Waste Water Operating
fund including a budget for system repairs and upgrades, equipment maintenance and
operating supplies; and
WHEREAS the budgeted funding was used for emergency sanitary sewer system
repairs and other unforeseen costs including inflation rather than for the planned system
repairs and maintenance projects; and
WHEREAS the Town Council desires to transfer budgeted expense authority in
the fiscal year 2021-2022 budget of up to $425,000 from the General Fund Contingency
line item to the Water Reclamation Fund for planned system repairs and maintenance
projects; and
WHEREAS transferring budget capacity from the General Fund Contingency line
item of up to $425,000 within fiscal year 2021-2022 to the Water Reclamation Fund will
not significantly impact the General Fund; and
WHEREAS reallocations of budgeted expense authority between funds are neces-
sary from time to time; and
WHEREAS the Council finds that the reallocations addressed by this resolution
are in the best interest of the Town of Marana and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The transfer of up to $425,000 in budgeted expense authority from the
General Fund Contingency line item to the Water Reclamation Fund for costs related to

planned system repairs and maintenance projects in the fiscal year 2021-2022 budget is
hereby approved.
SECTION 2. The Town's Manager and staff are hereby directed and authorized to
undertake all other and further tasks required or beneficial to carry out the terms, obliga-
tions, and objectives of this resolution.
