Title 6 and 13 Dog Park Ordinance

“Dog park” means any designated, fenced,
off-leash dog area which allows dogs to run
freely and socialize with other dogs while
being supervised by their owners.

•Dogs must be accompanied by their owner at all times within the dog park.
•Dogs must be restrained upon entering and exiting the dog park.
•Dogs are to be removed by the owner from the dog park immediately following any indication of aggressive behavior.
•A town employee can require a dog to leave a designated dog park.
•Dog owners are solely responsible for the conduct of their dogs at all times.
•Dog owners and all visitors to the dog parks enter at their own risk and assume all risks related to their visit and use of the areas, including, but not limited to, all dog bites and damage to personal property.

The town enforcement agent will not conduct an
investigation and/or evaluation for biting incidents
that occur in a dog park, unless it involves serious
physical injury, as defined in A.R.S §13-105(39), to a
human being.

•"Serious physical injury" includes physical injury that creates a reasonable risk of death, or that causes serious and permanent disfigurement, serious impairment of health or loss or protracted impairment of the function of any bodily organ or limb.
•In terms of the laws regarding protracted loss,a person must lose the function of certain body parts for an extended period of time. For example, if your arm is broken in a car crash and you are unable to use it for several weeks or more, this may be considered a protracted loss.
