New Chapter 9-15 “Soliciting in Residential Areas”
•Requirements for businesses whose employees solicit in
residential areas.
•Currently Chapter 9-3 addresses peddlers who are individuals not
associated with a business that go door-to-door.
•Defines residential area as an area where housing
predominates

Requirements for Solicitation in Residential Area
•Need a valid Town of Marana business license
•Employees who are soliciting in residential area must:
•Have a copy of business license
•Work between the hours of 9:00 am and 7:00 pm
•Employees who are soliciting in residential area shall not:
•Make exclusive use of any specific location
•Operate in congested area causing inconvenience
•Go to residences with signs stating “no solicitors” (or similar) or remain at residence after being requested to leave

•An employee’s failure to comply with requirements in new
Chapter 9-15 can result in either:
•Denial of business license application;
•Suspension of business license;
•Revocation of business license; OR
•Nonrenewal of license
