The dashboard was created to provide the public with comprehensive, easy -to -understand information. Cherished Heritage Leverage the region's historic and cultural legacy to strengthen community character, increase community pride, and build heritage -driven tourism. Healthy Lifestyles Provide a variety of recreational, artistic, and cultural opportunities along with a flourishing natural environment to support healthy and active lifestyles. Vibrant Community Thriving Commerce Strengthen the sense of place and create opportunities for community connections. Recruit and maintain a diverse commercial sector that is supported by local workforce training and funding opportunities. Accomplishments/Significant Highlights: • In December 2023, the Town hired a Cultural Heritage Specialist to lead 1 efforts to better showcase and preserve Marana's history and heritage. • Creative Machines finalized the fabrication of the public art for the Community and Aquatics Center and will install the art once construction of the facility is complete in Spring 2025. Looking Forward: • Staff have convened the Public Art Review Committee to identify priority locations for public art projects and present recommendations to Town Council. • The new Cultural Heritage Specialist is working on enhancing the Marana heritage webpage by identifying quality content, including adding photographs and historical research. Accomplishments/Significant Highlights: • The Marana Police Volunteer Foundation organized a golf tournament in December 2023; raised $16,000 to assist families in need during the holiday season. • The Marana Police Department hosted a Public Safety Day in partnership with the Marana Chamber of Commerce for Impact Marana. • The Transportation Master Plan planning process continues. Delivery of the final report is scheduled for March 2024. Looking Forward: • The Town is planning to collaborate with Pima County in County -wide housing study. Pima County released the Proposal and is in the process of selecting a consultant. a large-scale, % # Request for On Track Upcoming 70.83 4.17 17 1 Completed 25.0 6 • Town is on track with the launch of a new town -wide website that will better serve local government needs and improve resident outreach. Content migration and finalizing navigation are current next steps. Accomplishments/Significant Highlights: • The new Discover Marana website launched in November 2023. Team will continue to generate new content. ✓COMPLETED • Discover Marana contributed six pages to the Marana Official Guide. The pages serve as a standalone guide for tourists. • A consultant has been selected for the Tourism Master Plan. Staff has identified stakeholders who will participate in the process and will advertise a survey to the community. Looking Forward: • The Discovery Series giant vinyl graphics have been installed at the Tucson # Premium Outlets. Additional windows will be installed at the Outlet Mall. Accomplishments/Significant Highlights: • The groundbreaking event for the Marana Community & Aquatic Center was held on October 20, 2023. The project is on track for a Spring 2025 opening. • $16,000 worth of fitness equipment was delivered for use by Senior Program members. Equipment was purchased with funds awarded through a grant from Gila River Indian Community. • Parks and Recreation held three races in the #RunMarana program, which included Turkey Trot, Dirt Dash, and Eggnog Dash. Looking Forward: • Construction of the CalPortland portion of the Santa Cruz River Shared Use Path will begin in February 2024. • A new event will be added in Spring 2024 to highlight the recent enhancements at the Tortolita Preserve. The Tortolita Traverse will be a two-day event. Accomplishments/Significant Highlights: • The Marana Municipal Complex LED lighting upgrade project is well underway and nearing completion. • The Facilities Master Plan's planning process continues. Delivery of the final report is scheduled for March 2024. • Marana Water negotiated the purchase of 12,000 acre feet of long-term credits with the Tohono O'odham Nation. Looking Forward: • A new Organizational Development Manager was onboarded in January 2024. This new role will focus on providing learning and development opportunities for employees and will identify skill gaps throughout the organization. • CIP Staff are currently working with other departments to finalize scopes and fees for the list of CIP Projects. Presentation to Town Council is scheduled for March 2024.
