A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COLrNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA FAVORING THE PLACEMENT
OF HOUSE NUMBERS ON ALE DWELLINGS AND BUSINESSES WITHIN THE TOWN.
WHEREAS the Marana Volunteer Fire Department and the Marsha Marshal's
Office have, on occasion, had difficulty in locating various addresses within
the Town; and
WHEREAS in order to assure a more efficient response from the }~rana
Marshal's Office and the Marana Volunteer Fire Department whenever they are
responding to an emergency situation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Marana,
Arizona, that the Town Council urges all people within the Town limits of the
Tow~ of Marsha to place upon their residences and businesses numbers indicating
the correct street number of that particular building; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Council urges that said numbers be
not less than three inches (3") in height, in block print, and be of a contrast-
ing color with the background upon which said numbers are placed; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Council urges that said numbers be
displayed on that portion of the building facing the addressed street, unless
the building is more than one hundred fifty (150) feet from the street, in which
case the numbers should be placed on the fence facing the addressed street, or on
both sides of the mailbox if the mailbox lies on the same side of the street as
the building and if front of the building; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that if there is no fence or mailbox in front of the
building and on the same side of the street as the building, then the Town Council
urges that all residences and businesses erect a post in front of the building,
said post to display the numbers of that building's street address.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the governing body of the Town of b~rana, Arizona
this 12th day of March , 1984.
