HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 87-012 Providing for a call for election for a special election for constructing, purchasing, acquiring or leasing a water utilityRESOLUTION NO. 87-12 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA PROVIDING FOR A CALL FOR ELECTION FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, PURCHASING, ACQUIRING OR LEASING A WATER UTILITY WHEREAS the Town of Marana is empowered pursuant to A.R.S. Section 9-514 to engage in the utility business; and WHEREAS the Town Council has determined that it would be in the best interests of the Town for the Town of Marana to be engaged in the water utility business; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana as follows: Section 1. That March 29, 1988 has been set as the date for holding a special election in the Town of Marana for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the Town of Marana the question as to whether or not the Town should be authorized to construct, purchase, acquire and/or lease a water utility. Section 2. That Pima County registration and voting lists will be used for the special election. In order to be qualified to vote the elector should be registered by February 9, 1988. Section 3. The Pima County Divisions of Elections shall be conducting the election. Section 4. The polling place shall be at 12775 North Sanders Road, Mararia, Pima County, Arizona, 85653, and the polls shall be open from 6:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
