RELATING TO AIR QUALITY AND $UPPOR? OF THE
REGIONAL CARBON MONOXIDE AIR QUALITY PLAN.
WHEREAS, For the last two years, the Town of Mararia through
it's membership in the Pim~ Association of Governments (PAG) and
PAG have worked together to produce a plan entitled the 1997
Carbon Monoxide State Implementation Plan Revision for the Pima
County Regional Air Planning Area (CO Plan) for the purpose of
limiting emissions of carbon monoxide (UO) from motor vehicle
usage in the regional area; and
WHEREAS, The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS)
has until the end of 1987 to review and submit locally prepared
plans to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for review and
approval; and
WHEREAS, The CO Plan was reviewed and approved for submittal
to the ADHS by the Regiona! Uouncil; and
WHEREAS, Both the ADHS and EPA have requested that affected
local Jurisdictions adopt formal commitments for implementing the
regional CO Plan.
NO~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Town Council of the Town of Marana has
allocated $500.00 from the FY 1987-88 budget for the
implementation of the CO Plan and express their intention to
allocate future funding for the continued implementation of the
CO Plan.
SECTION 2. That the various Town Officials in coordination
with the Town Manager be and they hereby are authorized and
directed to perform all acts necessary or desirable to give
effect to this res olutton.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Town Councll
of the Town of Marana, Arizona this 15th day of December, 1987.
