HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 87-015 Budget allocation relating to regional air quality and support for travel reduction RESOLUTION 87-15 RELATING TO AIR QUALITY AND SUPPORT OF THE TRAVEL REDUCTION ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, For the last two years, the Town of Marana through it's membership in the Pima Association of Governments (PAG) and PAG have worked together to produce a plan entitled the 1987 Carbon Monoxide State Implementation Plan Revision for the Plma County Regional Air Planning Area (CO Plan) for the purpose of limiting emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) from motor vehicle usage in the regional area; and WHEREAS, Within the CO Plan there is an element of implementation entitled the Travel Reduction Ordinance; and WHEREAS, The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) has until the end of 1987 to review and submit locally prepared plans to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for review and approval; and WHEREAS, The CO Plan was reviewed and approved for submittal to the ADHS by the Regional Council; and WHEREAS, Both the ADHS and EPA have requested that affected local Jurisdictions adopt formal commitments for implementing the regional CO Plan including the Travel Reduction Ordinance element, WHEREAS, The Town Council of the Town of Marana has allocated $500.00 from the FY 1987-88 budget for the implementation of the CO Plan and express allocate future funding for the continued CO Plan. their intention to implementation of the BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL of Marana supports NO~ THEREFORE, OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Town Council of the Town the Regional CO'Plan. SECTION 2. The Town Council of the Town of Marana supports the concept of ueducing overall travel for commute trips.
