HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 89-027 IGA with pima county for CDBGRESOLUTION NO. 89-27 A RESOLUTION AUI"r{ORIZING 13~E MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ~l~RANA TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH PIMA COUNTY FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG) PURPOSES. WHEREAS, t~e County and the Town of Marana desire to engage in housing and community development activities as authorized under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and subsequent amendments; and WHER~S, it is necessary to enter into a Cooperative Agreement in order to meet the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and subsequent amendments; and WHEREAS, the County and the Town of. Mararia are public agencies under the Provision of Sections 11-951 et seq. of the Arizona Revised Statutes, and each is authorized by law to enter into joint powers agreements; and WHEREAS, the County and the Town of Marana are individually authorized by law to engage in housing and community development activities; and WHERE~AS, the County and the Town of Mararia do hereby find and determine that it is to the best interest of the residents of the unincorporated areas of the County and the Town of Marana that housing and community development activities be performed jointly in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement and that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban D~velopment recommends that expenditures of funds for each purpose be on an Urban County basis; and WHERF. AS, it is mutually beneficial to each of the parties hereto for the County to administer and execute the provisions of this Agreement in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter provided and subject to local ordinance and State and Federal law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Maran~ does enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Pima County for CDBG Program purposes.
