HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 90-016 appointing an election board for the may 15, 1990 special election RESOLUTION NO. 90-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OFMARANA, ARIZONA APPOINTING AN ELECTION BOARD AND TALLY BOARD FOR THE MAY 15. 1990 SPECIAL ELECTION WHEREAS A.R.S. Section 16-531 requires the Town Council to appoint, without consideration for political party, a minimum of three election workers for each polling place consisting of at least one Inspector and two Judges; and WHEREAS A.R.S. Section 16-531 requires the Town Council to appoint a Tally Board for the specific purpose of tallying the ballots on the closing of the polls, which Board must consist of at least one Inspector and two Judges; and WHEREAS the Marana 1990 as the date for a special obtain authorization to levy Town. Town Council has ordered May 15, election for the Town of Marana to a primary property tax within the NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona as follows: 1. That Gaynel Robinson is hereby appointed as the Election Inspector for the May 15, 1990 special election, who shall also be the Inspector of the Tally Board. 2. That Elisa Noriega and Iradell White are hereby appointed as Judges of the Election Board, who shall also be appointed as Judges for the Tally Board. 3. That in the event one of those individuals appointed in Sections I or 2 above should fail to appear and serve, Terry Gaudette and Iva Lee Chumley are hereby appointed to serve as a substitute thereof. 4. That the compensation for each of the foregoin9 officers is fixed at the sum of $98.00 per day for the Inspector, and S75.00 per day for the Judges. 5. If any member should fail to appear and serve, the Marana Town Clerk shall appoint a qualified substitute. WHEREAS, the immediate operation of this Resolution is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the Town of Marana, Arizona, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and adoption.
