HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 91-023 IGA FOR M.A.N.T.I.S.RESOLUTION NO. 91-23 ~ELATING TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A MULTI-AGENCY INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR A COOPERATIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT PROJECT RELATING TO ORGANIZED CRIME AND NARCOTICS~ DESIGNED AS "M.A.N.T.I.S.", WITH PIMA COUNTY, ON BEHALF OF THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, THE TOWN OF ORO VALLEY, THE TOWN OF MARANA, THE CITY OF SOUTH TUCSON, THE TUCSON AIRPORT AUTHORITY, THE ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS, ON BEHALF OF THE UNIVER- SITY OF ARIZONA, THE PIMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, AND T~HE STATE OF ARIZONA, ON BEHALF OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The IntergovernmentalAgreement, a copy of which is attached, marked Exhibit A and by this reference incorporated herein, with Pima County, on behalf of the Sheriff's Department, the Town of Oro Valley, The Town of Marana, the City of South T~cson, the Tucson Airport Authority, the Arizona Board of Re- gents, on behalf of the University of Arizona, the Pima Community College District, and the State of Arizona, on behalf of the Department of Public Safety, for cooperative law enforcement project relating to organized crime and narcotics designated as "M.A.N.T.I.S." is hereby approved, and the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the same in as many originals as desira- ble for and on behalf of the Town of Mararia, and the Town Clerk is authorized the directed to attest the same. SECTION 2. The various Town officers and employees be and they hereby are authorized and directed to perform all acts necessary or desirable to give effect to this Resolution. SECTION 3. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the Town of Marana that this Resolution become immediately effective, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Resolution shall be effective immedi- ately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona this 15th day of October, 1991. MAYOR ATTEST ·
