A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA,
ARIZONA, FORMING THE "TOWN OF MARANA ANNEXATION TASK FORCE".
WHEREAS, the Town of Marana has recently annexed into its town limits extensive
business and commercial activity, and the issue of future annexations has become a primary
concern for the Town of Mararia; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Mararia believes that there should be
established a task force, made up of three members of the Mararia Town Council, three members
of the general public, the Town Manager, Town Clerk, Chief of Police, Planning Administrator,
and Public Works Superintendent, to deal with future annexations and annexation policy.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona that there be established the Town of Marana Annexation Task Force, and that
if necessary such Task Force formulate bylaws, rules and regulations, and such other
administrative rules as are necessary to complete its objectives.
BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that the Annexation Task Force shall be made up of three
members of the Town Council, three members of the general public, the Town Manager, Town
Clerk, Chief of Police, Planning Administrator, and Public Works Superintendent.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, although the functions of the Task Force need to
be more specifically defined by the Task Force, the general responsibilities shall include the
establishment of short and long term policies for annexation and developing a strategy for
accomplishing specific annexations.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona,
this 15th day of March, 1994.
