HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 95-030 IGA with pima county for CDBG and Home investment partnership program purposesRESOLUTION NO. 95-30 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCEL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA AUTHORIZING THE TOWN TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE AGRg. I~MENT WITH PIMA COUNTY FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BI-,OC~ GRANT AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Pima County and the Town of Mararia desire to engage in housing and community development activities as authorized under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and subsequent amendments; and WI-IF. REAS, it is necessary to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement in order to meet the requirements of the Ho,,dng and Community Development Act of 1974 and subsequent amendments; and WHEREAS, Pima County and the Town of Mararia axe public agencies under the provisions of Sections 11-951 et seq. of the Arizona Revised Statutes, and each is authorized by law to enter into joint powers agreements; and Vv~IEREAS, Pima County and Town of Marana are individually authorized by law to engage in housing and community development agreements; and WI-Ig. REAS, Pima County and the Town of Marana do hereby find and determine that it is to the best interests of the residents of the unincorporated areas of Pima County and the Town of Mararia that housing and community development activities be performed jointly in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement and that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recommends that expenditures of funds for each purpose be on an Urban County basis; and WHEREAS, it is mutually beneficial to each of the parties hereto for Pima County to administer and execute the provisions of this Agreement in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter provided and subject to local ordinance and state and federal law; NOW, THF. RF_~ORE, BE 1T RESOLVED, that the Town of Mararia does enter into an intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with Pima County for CDBG and I-lOMB Program purposes.
