HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 95-033 approving the town magistrate to serve as a juvenile hearing officerRESOLUTION NO. 95-33 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF TOWN OF MARANA MAGISTRATE TO SERVE AS A JUVENILE HEARING OFFICER. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Town of Marsha Municipal Court to hear and adjudicate certain offenses involving juveniles; and WHEREAS, the Presiding Judge of the Ping County Juvenile Court may appoint town magistrates to serve as juvenile hearing officers with the approval of the town council pursuant to A.R.S. § 8-232; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Town of Marana that the Town Magistrate be appointed to serve as a juvenile hearing officer to hear, adjudicate and dispose of certain offenses involving juveniles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marana Town Magistrate may be appointed to serve as a juvenile hearing officer by the Presiding Judge of the Pima County Juvenile Court for the following civil and cr'uninal offenses committed by juveniles within the town limits of Marant: 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. offenses involving alcohol purchase, possession or consumption; boating or game and fish violations; curfew violations; tmancy violations; possession of firearms violations; graffiti offenses; offenses involving tobacco; all traffic offenses except DUIs and leaving the scene of an accident; and any violations of Mararia ordinances.
